Organ Recovery Coordinator

New Mexico Donor Services is currently seeking an Organ Recovery Coordinator (ORC) to join a dedicated team of professionals in a fast paced work environment while sustaining the organization’s mission of commitment to saving and improving lives. The primary responsibility of the organ recovery coordinator is to coordinate the organ donation process. This includes leading the entire care team in the clinical management of the potential organ donor and maximizing organ suitability for allocation and transplantation. The coordinator will be participate in a broad scope of clinical and non-clinical functions and collaborate with NMDS leadership in organizational improvement initiatives.  The ability to work independently both in and out of the office, in hospitals and manage “on call” responsibilities in cooperation with teammates is inherent. A valid driver’s license and insurance must be maintained and availability of a reliable automobile to travel within the state of New Mexico. Ability to travel by air is required.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess advanced clinical, critical-thinking, and communication skills. Two years experience as an organ recovery coordinator and certification as a Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC) is highly desired. Strong computer and communication skills are a must. Other health care professionals with a proven record in an advanced clinical setting with the extensive medical skills necessary to perform the job responsibilities will be considered.

Family Care Coordinator

New Mexico Donor Services, the non-profit organ recovery agency for the State of New Mexico seeks a compassionate professional to work with families in crisis providing bereavement support and information about organ donation along with other end of life decisions and bereavement support.Excellent interpersonal skills are essential for effective relationship building and liaison role assumed with the hospitals and communities NMDS serves.

Professional work history in hospice and/or healthcare or donation industry will be considered in lieu of advanced education. Background in social work, family/bereavement counseling, is preferred. Excellent writing, communication, organizational, computer, and interpersonal skills are necessary. Extensive On-call are necessary in order to meet with families in their time of crisis with travel throughout the state. Valid driver license and insured vehicle are required.

Tissue Recovery Assistant

New Mexico Donor Services seeks a flexible individual to join our Tissue Recovery team. The Recovery Assistant is responsible for recovery activities related to the surgical removal, preservation and allocation of tissue for transplant. Must be able to work various on-call hours and travel throughout the state.  A background in Health Sciences or medical experience is preferred. Training is provided.
A valid NM Driver’s License is a must.

Recovery/Preservation Technician

New Mexico Donor Services seeks a highly motivated individual to join our Organ and Tissue Recovery team. The Recovery/Preservation Technician. This position is responsible for recovery activities related to the surgical removal, preservation and allocation of organs and tissues for transplant. Successful applicants will be looking for a work environment that is both challenging and rewarding, be ready to learn and advance their skills and have a commitment to organ and tissue donation and transplantation. 

Applicant must be able to work FT on a rotating schedule. On-call duties required and must be able to work various hours. High school diploma or equivalent required. Health Sciences background or medical experience preferred.
