SIGN UP, SAVE LIVES!

red heart on licenseSay "YES" to save lives! The red heart on your license is your decision to donate LIFE.

  • Indicate your decision to be a donor at the time you obtain or renew your New Mexico driver's license or identification card at the Motor Vehicle Division (MVD).

  • By registering on your license or ID card, you give permission to donate your organs, eyes, and tissue for transplant, research or education at the time of death.

  • A 15 y.o. can register as a donor when obtaining a learner's permit. Parent or guardian's permission is needed if under age 15.

  • If you are not obtaining or renewing your Driver's License or ID card you can also designate your decision to be a donor in the following ways:
    1. Fill out an Organ Donor Card and keep it in your wallet.
    2. Send an e-mail postcard or notification card to family and friends.
    3. Add a donor sticker to the back of your driver's license or ID card until you renew. Get your sticker info@donatelifenm.org or (505) 843-7672.
    4. Fill out an Advance Directive for Health Care Decision that specifies your decision to be a donor.
  • Living Donation of a kidney or liver section may be an option for someone who is willing to help someone in need of a life-saving transplant.
