Decision: Donation: An instructional package for mid and high schools about the importance of organ and tissue donation and the need to make an informed decision about whether to be a donor and share their donation wishes with their families. This multifaceted set of materials includes print, video, CD-ROM and curriculum is online - can be used by educators to integrate the topic of organ and tissue donation into existing curriculum programs.
Gift of a Lifetime: Students and teachers can experience the dramatic stories of transplant patients
and donors as they are told in the Transplant Journey and Faces of Donation. Download suggested activities and worksheets and explore the Interactive Body to learn about the organs and tissues that can be transplanted. Students can also send questions that will be answered by experts in the field of organ and tissue transplantation, or you can arrange for a local expert to come into your classroom.
FLOW: A short drama targeted to high school students is a touching depiction of an encounter between a donor family member and a recipient. The emotional story helps young people understand the life and death struggle experience by those in need of transplants and families faced with the decision to donate organs. The program contains lesson plans, facts and statistics. Flow has been successfully incorporated into Health, Science, Social Studies and English classes.
